Welcome to Term 2

We are learning all about length this week. On Friday we traced our shoe and measured who had the largest foot. We found out that the tallest person in room 3 does not necessarily have the largest foot. Today we decided to measure who had the largest head. We used paper to wrap around our heads, then chose what unit we wanted to measure with. Some children used paper clips, cubes, bottle tops, dominoes and paddlepop sticks. Here are some photos of our activity.

  1. Wow you guys have only been back one week and you are already hard at work. Next time I can't find my tape measure I will use paddlepop sticks or streamers instead. Mrs Frost

  3. You are learning some very interesting things in Mathematics. Measuring is an important skill. Can you think of all the times in one day you may have to measure something? I'll begin a list for you:
    - putting vegemite on your toast in the morning
    - spooning milo into milk
    - putting toothpaste onto your toothbrush
